Friday Harbor to Stuart Island (Prevost Harbor)

After walking into town to stock up at the supermarket, we untied the lines and cruised over to Stuart Island. We went north out of Friday Harbor rather than south and around the island because we would have had to fight a strong current against us. Once we arrived, we tucked in behind Satellite Island and anchored in Prevost Harbor.

Once we were anchored we jumped into the tender and went ashore to hike to the Turn Point Lighthouse. It was a nice, easy hike and the highlight was definitely the three yaks running behind a farmer’s ATV because it was lunch time. When they got back to the barn they were rewarded with yak food in their yak food bowls.

When we got back to the boat it was time for some water-based fun. We tossed the kayaks in the water and did some paddling around the harbor. In addition to the paddling, Conor went for a swim in the 45 degree water. Finally, we tossed out the crab pot in the first of many failed efforts to catch a meal.
