Day 3: Morro Bay to Santa Barbara

First thing in the morning, we had Eric dive into the water and check out the bow thrusters for clogs. When we talk last night, the bath thruster died. We figured there must be kelp or seagrass lodged inside of it. He did remove some, but not a ton.

We left Morro Bay around 8 AM. It was very clear and calm in the morning and we cruised several hours before getting into the Pt Conception area. As we approached the winds picked up substantially hitting 28 or 29 kn and the waves grew to probably 6 feet or 7 feet. We were surfing down the backside of waves and at one point hit 15 kn. we debated whether or not we would stop in Coho Anchorage right after conception but ultimately decided to just keep going to Santa Barbara.

We arrived at Santa Barbara just as it was getting dark around 6:30 or so and fortunately they had a slip for us. It was a very long day and we were eager to get off the boat to go eat something and walk around. Eric went out for dinner with a family friend and Pete and I went and had dinner at a local place right in the marina area .
