Day 2: Monterey to Morro Bay

Day two was very calm and long. We ran approximately 110 miles and it took at least 10 hours. It seemed like we were running through a wildlife desert after yesterday. The second half of the day we saw absolutely nothing in the water. We did see a few dolphin earlier in the day, but once they were gone, that was it.

We arrived at Morro Bay state dock at about 6:30 in the evening and tried to dock in the slip they assigned us. Turns out the current was running directly across the slip at about 1-2 kn, impossible to not impossible to do some damage to the hall which I was successful at. We ended up borrowing a slip from somebody who was out of the harbor where it was much more straightforward to get in given the current situation.

We went out to dinner with Eric’s son, Mack, and had a really nice time. We came back to the boat and went to sleep.
